PSHA encourages you to join various committees in PSHA that can help make an impact in our profession. Please indicate on the on-line form below which committee you’d be willing to serve. A PSHA Executive Board Member will contact you to discuss how you can begin serving on a committee.
Nominations Committee - Works to find nominees for those positions on the Executive Board that are up for (re)election. Association Long Range Planning Committee - Organizes and implements the long-range planning for the Association. Constitutional Revisions Committee - Prepares materials to propose constitutional revisions suggested by the Executive Board. Publications Committee - Works with the editor of the Keystater to assist in the compilation and composition of articles for Keystater newsletters. Electronic Communications Committee - Oversees PSHA Bulletin Board; maintains activity on relevant topics; encourages networking and on-line communications among members. Public Relations and Information Committee - Provides information to the public regarding the profession and association; oversees regional associations; sponsors Better Hearing and Speech Month Campaign. Audiology Committee - Addresses current issues and developments in the profession and practice of Audiology and makes recommendations related to educational and training program development in audiology, clinical certification, competency issues, and regulatory requirements related to obtaining licensure and/or certification Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Committee - Addresses current issues and developments in the Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and makes recommendations related to educational and training program development for education of the death and hard of hearing, certification, competency issues, and regulatory requirements related to obtaining licensure and/or certification. Schools Committee - Addresses current issues and development of services provided in schools by Audiologists, Educators of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Speech-Language Pathologists.Hospital/Rehabilitation Services Committee – Addresses current issues and development of services provided in hospitals and rehabilitation settings by Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists. Private Practice Committee – Addresses current issues and development of services provided in private practice by Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists. Continuing Education Committee - Assists with improving and developing continuing education plans to meet the current regulatory requirements and clinical development needs of the membership. Supervision Committee - Addresses current issues and developments as they pertain to the supervisory practices of professionals in the fields of Audiology, Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Speech-Language Pathology. Legislation and Regulations Committee - Provides technical support for the development of regulatory documents, reviews issues affecting the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology, and participates in grassroots activities that favor our professions and those we serve. Convention Planning and Program Committee - Brainstorms possible topics, contacts presenters, schedules the sessions, arranges for facilitators and takes care of other details concerning the convention program. Local Arrangements Committee - Contacts local businesses, provides information on local sites and events of interest, and gathers items for the auction or other giveaways that occur during the convention. Membership and Recruitment Committee – Recruits PSHA members. Dysphagia Committee - Addresses current issues regarding the provision of swallowing assessment and interventions in all settings. Conducts continuing education activities and sponsors a list serve for PSHA members interested in dysphagia. Current focus is on increasing statewide involvement in committee activities. |
