Research tells us that a strong oral vocabulary is critical to the development of reading and writing. To build better readers, we must help our students become word conscious – to learn to pay attention to words as well as to enjoy learning about words. Participants in this webinar will be provided with practical, proven, interactive (and fun!) strategies to build vocabulary for students of all ages and ability levels.
At the conclusion of this webinar, attendees will be able to explain the role of oral vocabulary in the development of reading and writing, engage students in empirically supported activities to create word-consciousness and incorporate research-driven vocabulary building strategies into small-and large group instruction.
