PSH-PAC Fund Drive
PSH-PAC, the Pennsylvania Speech Language Hearing Association’s Political Action Committee, encourages and facilitates participation by members of our profession in electoral and policy-making processes. It does this by supporting candidates for state office whose records and policy positions have demonstrated support of the policy goals of the Association in areas such as education, licensure standards, and health care.
Legislation enacted by the PA General Assembly can have important consequences for members of the profession and persons with speech, language, and hearing disorders. One example of this is the currently pending legislation that would update the licensure and standards of professionals in speech, language, and hearing for the first time in more than 20 years. The PSH-PAC provides our profession with an important vehicle for participating in the political process and helping to elect members of government who share in our policy goals. The PSH-PAC provides a means for members of our profession to register their views on state issues through expression of support for candidates who espouse positions favorable to people with communication disorders and other disabilities.
Because of voluntary contributions from its members, PSHA is able to make contributions to campaigns of candidates for, and legislators in, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Senate.
