WORKSHOP
Assessment and Treatment of Stuttering: Research and Clinical Practice
Craig E. Coleman, MA, CCC-SLP, is a Clinical Coordinator at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Co-Director of the Stuttering Center of Western Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. Craig is a member of the ASHA Legislative Council and President of the Pennsylvania Speech and Hearing Association. In addition, Craig is a Board Recognized Specialist in Fluency Disorders and provides clinical service to preschool, school-age, and adolescent children who stutter and is involved in clinical research activities.
Glen Tellis, PhD, a Board-Recognized Fluency Specialist and Mentor completed his doctorate at The Pennsylvania State University and is currently an Associate Professor and Department Chair of the Speech-Language Pathology Program at College Misericordia in Dallas, Pennsylvania. His research interests include fluency disorders, research designs, treatment efficacy research, advanced digital technology, and clinical outcomes. He was PSHA President from 2005-2006 and is an editorial consultant and reviewer for the Journal of Speech-Language and Hearing Research, Journal of Fluency Disorders, and the Journal of Multilingual Communication Disorders.
This workshop will focus on clinically relevant assessment and treatment protocols in stuttering. Assessment and treatment techniques for adults and children will be discussed. An update on current research in fluency disorders will also be provided. Attendees will gain an understanding of practical strategies that cover the affective, behavioral, and cognitive components of fluency disorders.
At the completion of this event participants will be able to implement assessment protocols for adults and children who stutter, administer treatment protocols for adults and children who stutter, incorporate assessment and treatment protocols that target the affective, behavioral, and cognitive domains of stuttering, and discuss current research in fluency disorders.

Space is limited. It is recommended that you register early. Registration will not be accepted without either payment or a purchase order. On-site registration is strongly discouraged as space cannot be guaranteed.

Refunds/Cancellations: Refunds minus a $15 handling fee will be made if cancellation is received by October 5, 2007. No refunds will be made after this date.

Traveling South on Route 100 from Exton/PA Turnpike Take the Pottstown Pike exit after crossing the Rte. 30 By-Pass Turn left on Boot Road (the top of the hill which is the first traffic light) Follow Boot road to Phoenixville Pike, 1st traffic light, and turn right. The next traffic light, approximately ˝ mile, is Green Hill Road, turn left. Continue on Greenhill Road approximately 200 yards to the traffic light. Turn right onto McDermott Dr. Go past the green West Chester University sign on your right Turn right into parking lot. Graduate Business Center, 1160 Building, will be on your right.
There is ample “free” parking at the Graduate Business Center.
ASHA CEUs
ACT 48 Clock Hours PSHA is an approved provider by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to sponsor Continuing Education programs as required by ACT 48. This program is offered for 6 clock hours. Individuals attending the program must arrive on time and stay the duration of the program in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours.
