The Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association (PSHA) is excited to announce the launch of our PSHA Virtual Classroom program! This new initiative invites expert speakers and educators to submit continuing education courses for hosting on PSHA’s online learning platform.

Program Overview

  • Platform: PSHA’s new Virtual Classroom – a hub for high-quality, accessible continuing education.

  • Audience: Speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and related professionals across Pennsylvania and beyond.

  • PSHA members:  Take unlimited courses on the learning pass  for only $50 a year.

  • Non PSHA members:  Take unlimited courses on the learning pass for only $99 a year.

  • Honorarium: Get a free learning pass for each year you contribute a course!

  • Visibility: Courses are promoted on PSHA’s website, newsletters, and social media.

  • Impact: Share your expertise with colleagues while contributing to the growth of the profession.

Course Requirements

  • All proposed courses must adhere to ASHA’s continuing education requirements, including learning objectives, instructional level, disclosure statements, and required documentation.  Interested speakers must complete the application on the database.

  • Courses must be submitted in an asynchronous format (e.g., pre-recorded video, slides with narration, or interactive modules).

  • Courses will be reviewed by PSHA’s Continuing Education Administrator and the CE Content Consultant prior to approval.

  • Courses are limited to 30 mins, 1, 2, or 3 hours.  

  • Courses are accepted on the PSHA classroom for 5 years.  In accordance with ASHA guidelines, courses will be reviewed each year to ensure they meet best-practice guidelines.  

  • Presenters must submit a new course each year to earn the learning pass for free.

 

Submission Process

  1. Submit Your Proposal – Complete the PSHA Virtual Classroom Course Proposal Form online.  As part of the submission process, you are asked to submit a flyer that complies with ASHA requirements and can be used to promote your course.  Please use this Canva Template to 

  2. Review & Approval – PSHA will review for ASHA compliance and educational quality.

  3. Upload & Launch – Once approved, your course will be uploaded to the Virtual Classroom and made available to learners within 30 days

Satisfactory Completion Requirements :

Satisfactory completion is met when the participant watches at least 90% of the video, successfully obtains an 80% accuracy or above on a learning assessment, and completes a program evaluation.  Upon meeting these requirements, a certificate verifying satisfactory completion of the course will be issued.  All courses are asynchronous and must be started and completed before December 31st 2026.

 

Act 48 Clock Hours:

PSHA is an approved provider by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to sponsor Continuing Education programs as required by ACT 48. The number of clock hours is listed on the flyer for each event. Individuals attending the program must arrive on time and stay the duration of the program in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Cancellations and refunds will not be issued once a participant begins taking courses on the learning pass.  A refund can be issued prior to the participant viewing any of the content on the learning pass.

Complaint Policy
Questions and concerns should be emailed to [email protected]. Complaints arising during or after an event, can be filed using the PSHA CE Complaints and Appeals Form.

Accessibility Policy
The Association is committed to providing an outstanding experience for all participants at its events. We strive for full access to the activities of these events and accommodations relating to mobility, hearing, vision, or other areas may be provided. We ask that requests for reasonable accommodations at the event be made as early as possible, and well in advance of the event, so we may explore options to best meet the individual’s need or provide a resource/suggestion to help meet the individual's requirement. Potential Barriers: Although we strive to make this event as accessible as possible to all members, some barriers may remain due to financial, logistical, facility, vendor or volunteer/staffing limitations. If the association is unable to provide an accommodation due to one or more of the reasons stated above and the individual feels attendance is no longer an option, the Association will provide a full refund of the event registration fee.
